Thor - Review

As I live in Georgia (country), I was able to see Kenneth Branagh's "Thor" in my local cinema previous week. Film is about Marvel comics superhero Thor. Character is based on the god of thunder in Norse polytheism. The film stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston and Anthony Hopkins with Ashley Edward Miller, Zack Stentz, and Don Payne writing. Marvel Studios' Thor is another part of The Avengers franchise, which consists of Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk and Iron Man 2.

“Thor,” which spans the Marvel Universe from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is the mighty Thor (Chris Hemsworth), a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth by his father Odin (Anthony Hopkins) and is forced to live among humans. A beautiful, young scientist, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), has a profound effect on Thor, as she ultimately becomes his first love. It’s while here on Earth that Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.

Quentin Tarantino's Next Project

Even before Inglourious Basterds Quentin Tarantino told The Daily Telegraph that he wanted to do a spaghetti western, which would be set in deep south. So it's a southern rather than western (like a subgenre). Christoph Waltz will collaborate with Tarantino again. Franco Nero and Keith Carradine are also rumored to star in it. Yesterday twitter user @AgentTrainee tweeted photo, which depicts the front page of Tarantino's handwritten script. It's titled as "DJANGO UNCHAINED". (via /Film)

'Immortals' Trailer

Official trailer has been released for "Immortals", directed by Indian director Tarsem Singh. It tells us about Theseus, son of Poseidon. It's third big-budget movie based on Greek mythology since last year after "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief" and "Clash of the Titans". Mythical hero is portrayed by Henry Cavill (Superman: Man of Steel, Tudors). Film also stars Freida Pinto, Mickey Rourke, Kellan Lutz, Luke Evans, Isabel Lucas and John Hurt.

Academy Awards Shedule Announced

Yesterday The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences released a press release announcing key dates for 84th Academy Awards. The 84th Academy Awards will be presented on Sunday, February 26, 2012, Academy President Tom Sherak announced. The ceremony will again take place at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center® in Hollywood, and will be televised live by the ABC Television Network. A 90-minute red carpet show will immediately precede the ceremony broadcast.

Super 8 Interactive Trailer

"Lost" creator J. J. Abrams' upcoming epic science fiction film 'Super 8' became one of the most anticipating movies for all of us. It's first mysterious and strange teaser and trailer raised interest in me. Plot follows the story of boy, who uses his 'Super 8' camera to shoot a film with his friends. Now Abrams and producer Steven Spielberg released in interactive trailer for the film as a bonus mini-game to a latest video game "Portal 2". The "trailer"/game is set in the train, which is shown in trailers as children witness it's explosion. So you can have a look on the trailer from another point of view.

Set Photos of Christian Bale in "13 Flowers of Nanjing"

Production on Zhang Yimou's "13 Flowers of Nanjing" got off the ground in January. The film, starring actor Christian Bale, is based on the Yan Geling novel "13 Women of Nanjing". It's first movie for Christian Bale after oscar-winning performance of Dicky Eklund in "The Fighter". Few days ago, Asian website published several set photos, which depicts Christian Bale as a catholic missionary.

Cotillard and Levitt officially join "The Dark Knight Rises"

More and more casting calls are published by Warner Bros. for the most anticipating upcoming movie "The Dark Knight Rises". In the last two weeks Josh Pence was cast as young Ra's Al Guhl and also three new actors were revealed, who will star in TDKR alongside original cast of The Dark Knight and new actors and actresses, including Anne Hathaway and Tom Hardy.

Now studio published press release, which confirms well-known rumors about Inception cast members Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who were considered to play in the third film of Batman franchise.
